"The role of the Olympic movement is to contribute to building a peaceful and better world."
Maybe, one of the greatest gifts mankind has received in the last three centuries is the revival of the Olympics, with the objective of encouraging effort, preserving human dignity and fostering harmony. The objective of the Olympics was restated as driving for excellence and encouraging people to be the best they can be, demonstrating respect in many different manners: respect towards yourself, the rules, your opponents, the environment, the public — and finally celebrating friendship, which is quite unique to the Olympic Games and even brings people together from every corner of the world every four years.
The role of the Olympic movement is to contribute to building a peaceful and better world and to educate youth through sports without discrimination of any kind and in the spirit of the Olympics.
The first modern Olympic Games were started in 1896 in Athens, Greece. Baron Pierre de Coubertin was the founder of the modern Olympic Games. In a nutshell, the idea of the Olympics was to bring out the best in men and women through the play of sports. In other words, you don't have to score over your opponents, and thus Faith Academy has adopted the objectives which are also the same, plus honouring the Creator.
Children are excelling in sports. Many of them are appearing in the national competitions, and one of our boys, Karanjeet Singh, outsmarted the rest of his opponents from across the world to clinch gold medals in the World Arm Wrestling held in Malaysia. He was the first student from our school who reached world level.
It is our desire that the Lord God encourages all our students to excel not only in sports but also in their studies. May the Lord God bless all of you as we continue to strive on the road to excellence.
